As far as what we see among gamers themselves, it is almost always over the most petty stuff that people call a game as woke for some example:

Alan Wake 2 and Banishers are considered as woke games for the single reason that a black female is one of the lead characters in the game.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw was attacked as being a woke game for the single reason the main character is a 40 year old woman with short hair, it didn't matter the story was about avenging her husbands murder.

Sable getting attacked for being a woke game despite nothing is woke in the game at all, being attacked as a woke game just because Sweet Baby was involved.

We have seen games attacked for being woke just because of the single reason the developers decided to use "Body Type 1" and "Body Type 2" (or something similar) during character creation instead of "male" and "female".

or how Dragon's Dogma is getting attacked because of a single line in the game that is meant as a joke, and its the same line you get anytime you have a group that consists of a single gender male/female, or consists of all Beasts races.

And people like MonkehMaster are using this click bait stuff as proof that its a huge problem, when the actual reality it only happens in an extremely rare amount of games.

Capcom probably will take away the wrong thing from the DLC controversy too. The Resident Evil 4 remake (also a Capcom game) had upgrade ticket DLC... around 2 weeks after launch that is. Hardly anyone cared. The lesson is being more dishonest with gamers works.

Like, I'm buying Monster Hunter Wilds when it comes out either way. Which is also a Capcom game. If there are microtransactions I might not like. I'd want Capcom to have them at launch so I can be informed about them before purchasing. Rather than waiting 2 weeks to see them added post launch. But gamer culture is unironically pushing a company in that direction because it's too inconsistent in it's behaviour.

The thing is the offered DLC isn't NEW to the franchise, it's effectively some of the same stuff offered in DLC in 1.

And it's all stuff you can obtain in-game regardless, rather easily.

People are still freaking out, many of them new to the series entirely and uninformed. Lol

that's not true, real reason is cause there were early videos that a lot of ppl so about the game of char being white and when SBI got involved devs changed it in to black, if char would have been black from the start there wouldn't be backlash

Remedy didn't get to keep the rights to Quantum Break. They can't use Quantum Break's characters. The fact that both characters share the same name is more of an easter egg than anything else and one they can only get away with because a new actor is playing the new character. Sorry the video you link didn't cover this. Whatever dude you were citing seemed pretty uneducated about the whole thing.

Quantum also changed Martin Hatch to Warlin Door to avoid copyright. And evidence suggests he is supposed to be Saga's father. Same goes for sheriff Break to Jack Joyce. And Beth Wilder to Jesse Fayden. I guess those changes don't get mentioned because they don't fit the narrative though... hence why the video was so freakin badly researched.
