scrollbar disappeared

Does anyone also have no scrollbar on steam forums?Everything worked normally a few hours ago and bam it's gone

Try deleting Steam's cache and restarting.

Could also be after maintenance bugs.

Try to double click on top of your client twice in order to resize twice, that worked for me in the past perhaps it can help you.

Are you trying to use the steam client to browse the forums? If you are then that's likely part of your problem. Try closing out all that and use an actual web browser to access the forums instead. It's easier to use, the steam client will use less ram, and you won't ever have this problem. Open a browser and go here: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/

While the above suggestion works, it's still absurd. The scrollbar which I've used in discussion forums for the last 16 years up and disappeared today.

Clearly a mistake by Valve.

yep, bug in the steam client beta, scroll bar randomly disappears and reappears as it wishes, happens in almost all parts of forums on steam, steams forums, game forums, new/update threads from game devs, ect.., but i didnt bother looking further than that... could be happening in many other areas.

its quite an annoying bug to say the least.

best to report it in the steam beta subforum.

edit: i mentioned it (in the link below) first before posting it as a bug, cause i wanted to wait and see if others started asking or mentioning it.

also to note, you can view the forums in the client, you do not have to use a browser as some would demand and claim is the problem...lol.

watching the issue happen (scroll bar disappear)...

to me reminds me of the scroll bug that when posting in a thread and landing as first comment on a new page, would cause you to infinite scroll into the depths of the thread.... just blank space below all the comments.

when i click to go as example to a "news/update" thread from a game dev, the scroll bar looks like it blinks, then enlarges the size of the client window, then shrinks back to a smaller size and hits the bottom of the window and is gone.

not sure if the 2 are related, but to me it seems like it.

edit: also to mention while remembering, the mention above about scrolling into the depths of a thread... it also sometimes shows 2 bars showing comment numbers with no comments, no pages, no nothing.... it in general basically all comments disappear and the top and bottom bars with info close the gap, while still showing the thread has comments.

Mine is there, but very thin and probably partially off the screen when maximized.

Edit: When I shrunk and re-maximized the window, it's no longer partially off screen and now shows as normal.

hmm, mine just appears as it likes, double click maximize and the maximize button in top right do nothing to fix it for me.

Mine is gone, too, but only on game hub forums.

Makes no difference whether I use the client or my browser to view the forums.

Resizing the window does not fix the issue for me. Tuesdays...

Same here - there are scroll bars on this page but none on game discussion pages. They actually display for a split second but are then removed. Scrolling by keyboard does not work as well. Missing on web browser as well.

Someone didn't test something they should have.

Scrolling with the arrow keys and Page Up/Down works for me on web browser, but not in the Steam client.

yep, when the bar is gone, scrolling with arrows and page up/page down doesnt work, but works when the bar isnt gone.

Same problem for me, doesn't matter whether I'm using the Steam client or a browser with the entire cache and cookies deleted (or a private browsing session which has a clear cache and no cookies to begin with). The scroll bar is gone on all store pages, it appears for a brief moment then disappears. It shows up here in the discussions though. So I don't think this is an issue on our end, it's on Steam's end.
