Everyone should be prepared by now.
You not paying attention to what day it is, is not Steam's problem.
You know what time it is done. You simply don't want to accept responsibility and blame Steam instead of yourself.

*But hold on, now people will come in storming saying its false because valve managed to accidentally keep their servers alive in the last 3 days (Pretending to forget steam servers crash 5 times day).
To be fair and please correct me if I'm wrong but it does seem like it's not always at the same time or for the same length of time. For me I just don't bother gaming on Tuesdays from 3-6 pm. It's mildly annoying and inconvenient and I agree with the OP that a notification would be nice.
