Who moderate game forums?
Hi alI, I am wondering who moderate the game forums here? steam, players or game developers? I noticed most game forums are very strictly moderated especially if you are critic, they can get very hostile too members of that particular forum dont like it if you point out weakness in game, you get labelled joker or jester constantly and sometimes threads get locked. What is the policy here?

Game developers/publishers are responsible for the moderating. they often appoint their own moderators, who can be employees but also just volunteers from the gaming community (ergo fans of the game).

Assistance by Steam Support with the report queue, and the report queue only, is enabled by default. Game devs/pubs can opt out of that, though.

they are allowed to moderate their space as they see fit. Game hubs are considered the territory of the game devs/pubs by Valve. They have to really break the TOS between the game devs/pubs and Valve before Valve actually does something.

Banning people for criticism is advised against by Valve in the Steamworks documentation, but it's not against the TOS.

Ultimately one thing goes: Nobody owes you a soap box.

Game forums can be moderated by the publisher, if they want to, or it can be left to Steam.
