Guide / Workaround - How to Reset Steam Achievements
Steam Achievements are great. As a user, I engage with this system a lot. Some games allow me to reset the achievements throught their UI but, those are rare. In theory you could use the Steam API directly to do that, but most of us users are not technical enough for that

If you, like me, enjoy achievements and want to reset them for a game, so you could collect them again, you do not have a direct way to do this, but there is a workaround:
- Create a second Steam account
- Share your library through the family share feature
- Play the game via this second account

Family share essentially allows you to have multiple profiles for any given game.

Disclaimer - obviously do not do this for competitive multiplayer.

Beware that some games with leaderboards or similar can't be reset or will pop prior achievements the moment you run the game. Some Unity games comes to mind and the Tomb Raider reboot.

Game devs can provide a direct way actually, various ones do. Most just don't care.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

There is a simple command in the Steam Console that let's you do this, and Steam Achievement Manager gives you an even simpler gui based method for doing it.

Some games track achievements by the logged in Windows user via saved game files. So even if you create a second Steam account and launch a game with it, it will see the previously unlocked achievements and update the second Steam account as having them as well. You may also need to create an additional Windows user for your PC, or manually sequester save game files, to prevent them from being used for the 2nd account.
