Steam crashes on launch after latest update

Hello Reader,

Since Steams latest update, it is crashing after the updating Steam window appears.
I initially tried a full reinstall of steam to no effect.
I then found a post stating an update rollback works as a temporary fix with some of Steams features breaking.
This has worked for now though is hardly ideal.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Is it known to Valve?
Is there a fix or is it a case of hunkering down until a fix is issued?
I'm not sure if it is relevant though my install is not on the system drive if that is of any help?

Hey,

i have some problems too. When i start a Steam-Game my internet crashes.
When i close the game the internet is back.

Happens only with Steam-Games ( not on GTA, Ubi, Blizzard, etc. ) only Games that are on Steam.
It worked fine yesterday but after the Update today its not working at all on Steam.

I told people this would happen. More and more machines will be affected.
I severely doubt it can be fixed. I call stuff right now going on "phase 4 out of 5".

Yes, I have this problem too. But then the dialog box comes up, so I choose the Restart Steam Client option, and it works fine, as do all my games.
Maybe we just have to hang tight until a fix comes along? IDK.

Just tested a steam game tonight and didn't have the same issue. Can confirm that ways to contact steam support are broken though...

An update on this; I have just removed the updater block to see if this is still an issue and it seems to be resolved? Not sure what happened or why.
