Steamwebhelper.exe blocking Nvidia Display mode switch
Started happening yesterday after my steam client updated to the latest version. Nothing else changed on my system. Anyone experiencing the same thing? My system now wont switch to the discreet GPU as a result when launching any game from steam.

Alienware m16 R1 AMD

AMD 7845HX
RTX 4080 mobile
32gb 5200mhz ram.
Windows 11 pro.

started about 6 hours ago for me. everything was fine yesterday about 26 hours ago. now this thing keeps continuously popping up
I reported it to steam about it. I hope they'll address the issue. It happens on battle.net as well. This needs to be fix ASAP
I use this workaround. Taskmanager, kill Steam. Open NVidia control panel up, change to discrete graphics. Launch Steam, then game. Change back to onboard video after gaming should you need to.
I think this is a bug, I had the same error the first time yesterday. We'll probably need to wait for an update from Steam or Nvidia.

Ty for this fix! Its working for me, but I have to remember to go back to my integrated graphics when I'm done.

I got a reply back from support, simply saying they are aware of the issue and investigating it.

So far the only workaround is to go to the NVIDIA control panel and force it to use the NVIDIA GPU only before you open any game, and then revert back to whatever option you had (most likely automatic select) after you've finished playing. Someone suggested earlier to close steam before doing so, but I did not need to do that to get it to work.

We will have a fix in our next Game Ready Driver. For now I have created an FAQ to assist users:

I found a way to play.
1. open task manager
2. searche for steamwebhelpper
3. run cs2 and prepare to end task on steamwebhelpper
4. spam the end task beacuse steamwebh will auto restart.
5. after cs is launch all is good .

Cheers to all and sorry for my English . Hope I helped you
