Steamwebhelper.exe blocking Nvidia Display mode switch
Started happening yesterday after my steam client updated to the latest version. Nothing else changed on my system. Anyone experiencing the same thing? My system now wont switch to the discreet GPU as a result when launching any game from steam.

Alienware m16 R1 AMD

AMD 7845HX
RTX 4080 mobile
32gb 5200mhz ram.
Windows 11 pro.

Yeah same here. It's really annoying, for now i force my display to use GPU as default. Can't find any better solution yet

Same issue. Is there any fix?

Same issue. Whatever the last update was with steam they messed something up. Everyone is like spreading the word about it right now. Everything was fine yesterday but now everything is broken

Everything that has launcher together with steam is blocking the switch. Ubisoft connect and rockstar launcher also.

Like is there any fix to this or does it need to be addressed and fixed on their side?

I think this has to be fixed on their side. Since it was the update itself that broke it all.

This also happened to me, I tried launching SF6 through NVIDIA's GeForce experience and other games running through steam don't switch. Even if I clicked it on High Performance mode on Control Panel settings. (Both on Windows and NVIDIA's Control Panel)

Seriously ? I thought this was a Windows problem since 2014, unable to switch GPUs and have it stick for people with APU/GPU combos, mostly laptops.
Go to BIOS and disable the Integrated Graphics, beware all that comes with that.

it is not nvidia geforce experience nor is it nvidia geforce graphics card driver Conflicting with Steam Platform and Steam Games.

i'm able to play all the Steam Games including dota 2, CS 2, World of Tanks Blitz, Left for Dead 2........etc without any problem.

----------------------------------------------------------------

the only answer is this

1) your got a 3rd party program controlling all your Windows Settings and Steam Platform Settings and Steam Games in-game settings

e.g Razer Synapse or similar to it

such programs even though it shouldn't be in conflict with Steam Platform

but it turns out that it is doing that because such programs have access to the 1st level of your Windows Kernel system.

Steam Platform don't have that.

p.s Valorant first version of anti cheat system messes up the entire Computer for all Windows users as it is extremely intrusive till the point that even CPU hardware is being restricted.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Steam Platform and Razer Synapse problem is being resolved due to the latest Steam Platform update

but

Steam Games like dota 2, CS 2...........etc haven't receive an update to resolve the problem between Razer Synapse and those games i mention above.

I have exactly the same problem since today. I can't seem to play any games at the moment which wants to use my designated GPU. If someone has a solution, it would be more then welcome.
