Steam opening on startup with setting off
Since I updated to windows 11 steam has opened on startup relentlessly, I have always had the option disabled, and when I checked it still was. I tried turning it on, restarting, then turning it off but that didn't work. Been trying to fix it for a while, really confused.

Do you have anything like Wallpaper Engine or DSX delivered through Steam and set to launch at startup?

Another possibility is there’s some other, unrelated, software launching it. Someone on Reddit was having a similar issue and it turned out to be some Razer software that was launching it.

You definitely are confused there. Generally most people that use steam WANT it to start up when our computer starts up so there's no delay in waiting for steam to startup and login when we're ready to play our games. Most people never want to disable this. The "Fix" for this is to just leave it and let it run in the background so your games start up faster.

Open Task Manager and disable the startup through there.

Given the memory leak issues, I don’t blame anyone for booting it out of startup, lol.

Don't get them started. They will just drag this on with various other things.

There isn't a memory leak issue with Steam. It's only from people failing to configure their client correctly.
