A popular tactic corrupt moderators use

You will notice in almost all topics that moderators always love to use this corrupt tactic.
The corrupt mods and their friends will make posts which break the rules very clearly. They will post things like "troll" "bait" and other insults and baits and derails. I always report these moderators when they post this stuff even though I know its pointless but it only costs me like 5 seconds to copy paste "inflammatory derail".

Then either immediately after their corrupt posts or 1-3 days later you or someone else replies to them and say something like "no you are troll not me" or "thats against the rules to say" or "someone is easily triggered, take some deep breaths lol" or maybe you dont even reply to them you just say something similar in someone elses topic like "troll" "bait" etc.

That's when normal users get banned. Then the corrupts moderators will say "Just because others are breaking the rules doesnt mean you are allowed to. Report the posts and we will look into them. Closing ticket because we have nothing more to say. If you open another ticket we will not respond".

You will never see these corrupt moderators and their friends get banned, never ever. But normal users get banned all the time without even breaking the vague rules.

If you are a normal user who doesnt report these corrupt moderator and their friends posts, try it and see what happens... nothing will happen. Wait 1-2 week and come back and see if something happened but nothing will have happened.

Action only gets taken against normal users. And you might actually make yourself a target for these corrupt moderators if you report their corrupt posts. But don't be scared. The only way to get rid of corruption is to fight back against it. If we accept it and learn to live with corruption then we will always have corruption and it is likely to get even worse.

Right... I see where this is going, now. Disengage when you know you're dealing with a troll = Don't touch the poop. It makes much more sense. It's indeed a good advice.

It can really be, I agree. I felt bad seeing all the back-and-forth, with him trying to make you justify yourself, when you don't have to, but was unsure of what to say about all this.

Especially when I made the resolution to quit posting on Steam forums altogether moving forward.

But I am willing to make a few exceptions for a short time before I completely stop posting here for good.
