Steam Window always resized to a slightly larger res than my screen

Ever since the 'new' and completely cumbersome Steam client update was rolled out, and the startup command for the old steam was patched out forcing everyone to use it, my Steam window has constantly been resizing itself to a larger size that slightly spills out of my screen.
All.
The.
Time.
It's extremely annoying and tedious to have to grab the window, and resize it to the proper screen resolution. It's been doing this for months, and I can't figure out how or why, or any ways to fix it.

Has anyone else had this issue, or found a fix for it???

I had this issue for the last few months and reading through this I found the solution, that worked for me.
I have three monitors and have my wallpaper set to cycle randomly through a folder of wallpapers. Looking back I remember, that I set the random wallpaper rotation at the same time this started.
It seems, that the window always resized itself when the wallpaper changed. Just changed them back to static and boom. it works. no more "random" resizing.

Sadly, not a fix for me, because I've never used wallpaper rotation...

I have the same problem. I'm using ExplorerPatcher which in itself isnt the issue but I think that the Windows Scaling factor is an issue.

Don't mean to necro but I have found a solution this morning! Go to Steam -> Settings -> Interface, then turn off "Scale text and icons to match monitor settings (requires restart)". Should help out :)

interesting its been a year since the op, but last report is from a few days ago, so... no necromancy going on.
i just turned it off for a new annoyance, i cant tell if it helped with any of the issues yet

Is this the fix I've been waiting for???

I just applied the setting and already the window is locked to the size of my monitor; both of them, if I switch. I think this may just be it!

after turning it off it seems to happen a lot less often, but the issue still happens.

It got worse for me when I left it off, so I turned the option back on.

Well that's unfortunate. It worked great for me, and I run two monitors at the same resolution

Seems the setting is only a temporary/partial fix. When I restart or wake the PC from sleep the Steam window is back to being oversized; but with the setting off it stays 'correct' longer after I manually fix it...
