Reporting Moderators?
I know if someone makes a comment that is inappropriate or is trolling that there is an icon next to their name to "report user." My question is what will happen if I try to report a post made by a moderator? Could I get banned or worse, my account deactivated?

Valve doesn't ban people who don't break the rules. You can report whatever content you think breaks a rule, regardless of who makes it. At worse, you'll get a timeout from making reports if you abuse the feature. However, you really need to be abusing it in order for that to happen.

The only way for someone to know you reported them is for you to tell them you did. In the case of a moderator, they may see the report if it's for the game hub they moderate. Therefore you should find a contact point for the developers directly.

why would it get you banned? you are reporting a user that you find content offensive or misleading.

if you do a reason to report, you can report, it's not like your single report will do anything.
most likely there needs to be an action from a lot of users for it to be noticeable.

People are getting banned for breaking the rules, they have the mindset of they are above the law and what they do is not "trolling".
Read the rules, follow them and you will have zero problem with moderators. Been here for so long and yet to have a problem with current mod team or previous team. It is just so easy to behave on forum.

That was made four months ago. If I was making the same type of post every week, then yeah that would be spamming.

If you did it excessively you could get banned, or lose your ability to report. Assuming you are talking about GAME moderators, as steam moderators primarily use template responses and don't really post.

Game hub moderators are selected by the game devs, so if you think a hub mod is abusing their power, you need to contact the game devs directly.
Also, devs are allowed to have their hubs moderated as they see fit, as they are paying for the use of that space, so Steam Support will not help.

There is no accountability for moderators here or pretty much anywhere else. It is possible to block them, but you can even submit Cease and Desist Orders, and they will ignore them too.

Cease and Desist only works via Court Order and you can't block moderators from doing their job.
Those who scream about Moderators being bad, usually need to be moderated the most.

You can't issue a cease and desist order for a business to stop doing their job when you use their business. No court would ever sign such an order so that is false.

Unfortniatily, Valve doesnt care about moderators banning people. The same thing applies to developers banning people from steam's community hub.
