Its a good idea to expand but expand don't regroup
The curator is alive and well, and just now passed over 200,000 followers.

That puts it solidly among the top ten curators on Steam, behind titans like Rock, Paper, Shotgun, the official PCMR curator, and PC Gamer.
There is no user freedom here. This is a privately owned platform and Valve can allow or disallow any content they wish at their sole discretion, and you agreed to this when you accepted the SSA.
EDIT:
Oooh! Free points! Too bad Valve doesn't name the award giver, would love to know who's ego was bruised so much they outed themselves as an utter clown. =)
As mentioned above, they could give writing privilege to a selection of regular gamers, who have real accounts with real game time on it, who could help with checking new games and doing some of the legwork for the curator.
And the discussion part of the group was mostly used for farming awards threads and therefore not really helping the curator, so closing it down is better then having the whole group being shut down through it in the long run.
Anyway, SBI detected is now on the radar of many regular players, and all we have to do is spread the word to our families and friends. Btw. keep in mind that SBI is just the tip of the iceberg, there're many more "consulting companies" like that out there...
VALVE should've done as VALVE does, and let the consumer opinion reveal itself before locking themselves into an action. They done goof'd.
I tought most "steam curators" are just fake and only exist to get free game keys which they then sell on gray market marketplaces.
They haven't done anything to change their approach, and all you have is that person's word as to what they CLAIM valve said with absolutely no proof to back it up. So by nature you should be suspicious if they are making claims and not providing anything to back up the claim
I mean that wouldn't surprise me if that was part of it, more drama = more visibility for him.
Streisand effect
They called attention to the group wanting it removed; but all they did was bring it a larger audience.
surely just a bug
