Sweet Baby Inc detected closed - discussion
Hi guys, from what I understand. and from what I understand it is also due to massive reporting of users. which from what I see is a breach of user freedom to subscribe to any group they like if they want.

so in order to help with this, I am planning on working on a chrome extension that will provide the same level of information based on the steam page, unfortunately it won't work on the steam client but it is a workaround, what do you guys think?

Imo you sohuld not cave in but make the groups report proof, make sure you carefully approve who is allowed to post and let the group going, they employ report farms most likely and will use suicide accounts that are freshly made post outrageous stuff then get banned
Its a good idea to expand but expand don't regroup

It's funny. Cancel culture has gotten so bad, that some people see SBI Detected and just assume it's already cancelled by the woke mob.

The curator is alive and well, and just now passed over 200,000 followers.
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44858017-Sweet-Baby-Inc-detected/

That puts it solidly among the top ten curators on Steam, behind titans like Rock, Paper, Shotgun, the official PCMR curator, and PC Gamer.

There is no user freedom here. This is a privately owned platform and Valve can allow or disallow any content they wish at their sole discretion, and you agreed to this when you accepted the SSA.

EDIT:

Oooh! Free points! Too bad Valve doesn't name the award giver, would love to know who's ego was bruised so much they outed themselves as an utter clown. =)

Well, the discussion portion might be closed for now, but following the curator and watching his list is still an option, and that's all we need...

As mentioned above, they could give writing privilege to a selection of regular gamers, who have real accounts with real game time on it, who could help with checking new games and doing some of the legwork for the curator.

And the discussion part of the group was mostly used for farming awards threads and therefore not really helping the curator, so closing it down is better then having the whole group being shut down through it in the long run.

Anyway, SBI detected is now on the radar of many regular players, and all we have to do is spread the word to our families and friends. Btw. keep in mind that SBI is just the tip of the iceberg, there're many more "consulting companies" like that out there...

All I can say is that it's an interesting time for VALVE to change their legendary "hands off approach" and what for. Will be interesting to see what Gabe ultimately has to say about this, as for what I can tell it's anti-white racist consultancy (that VALVE hired) against the users, with a fair bit of 'freedom of speech' issues thrown in for good measure.

VALVE should've done as VALVE does, and let the consumer opinion reveal itself before locking themselves into an action. They done goof'd.

I tought most "steam curators" are just fake and only exist to get free game keys which they then sell on gray market marketplaces.

They haven't done anything to change their approach, and all you have is that person's word as to what they CLAIM valve said with absolutely no proof to back it up. So by nature you should be suspicious if they are making claims and not providing anything to back up the claim

To me it looks more like owner of the group wanted to fuel the drama.

I mean that wouldn't surprise me if that was part of it, more drama = more visibility for him.

Oh yes, drama farming strategy. Possible. Definitely brought extra attention to themselves and their nemesis.

I wonder why everyone is dogging on Sweet Baby Inc now out of all times considering that they've been around since the late 2010's. Last month, I heard nothing about them; now, I can't go three minutes on the Steam discussion forums without seeing a post complaining about them.

They decided to paint a target in themselves due to two employees in Twitter.

Streisand effect

They called attention to the group wanting it removed; but all they did was bring it a larger audience.

Because they were doing a pretty good job at hiding their actions and keeping quiet until recently.
