Steam wasn't even a store in 2003. Good night.
I don't think that's good comparision when you've take into account different "eras" in gaming. 2003-2008 was a time, when retail copies still had majority or at least significant share of gaming market.
Too many additional factors influence stats here, to be able to safely compare these 2 using such criteria.
Please check the link you quoted.
2006-2010
Steam wasn't a store before that, it only provided updates to their own games.
For you, yes, because you clearly didn't know that.
It was just a bad comparison overall.

The majority of Epic users are there for free games.
It's running at a loss.
It depends on exclusives.
No part of it is better than Steam or GOG stores except for regional prices.
samething? You mean using facts to dispell falsehoods being stated? I'm sure I did at some point, I also did that for Steam back in the days when Steam was greatly hated.
But nope, vast majority of the attacks were in threads asking for a GOG version and people attacking me and anyone who supported the asking calling us pirates. Or trying to discuss a game on the forums and people attacking us for not owning the game on Steam, despite saying we bought the game on GOG, telling us what we say doesn't matter because we don't own the game on Steam.
Even seen a ton of people try to attack GOG because of CD Projekt saying its a pirates haven since CD Projekt started out by selling pirated games in Poland.
Well, it's important to keep in mind that back then Valve also sold physical games... not to mention other devs/pubs sold physical games with activation on Steam (I even have some). That means part of the retail revenue went to Valve.
Epic Store as online store is very basic. There are no tools for the community , no community forums. So it is not 'better for gamers' as he likes to boast. Their exclusivity deals are never good in the long run. Buying those games, rewards that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practice. (Just like preordering games does).
Instead of just working on a better product to compete with Steam, he only talks ♥♥♥♥ in the media about Steam as if there is an upcoming boxing match between Tim and Gabe.
