Ummm I literally sent them proof of residency for the past 13 years, a copy of my ID, former passwords, screenshots of me playing on said account, screenshots of me in my avatar and the same photo of me on my FB.
Proof was provided, they refuse to do the right thing and give me access to something that is rightfully mine. They constructed a system to extract as much value (money) out of players as possible so much so that they inflated the price of certain games causing a class action and mass arbitration.
I am definitely not the one in the wrong here.
I proven everything I have including sending them a medical bill of mine showing an address associated with my account, my drivers license, several screenshots, so on and so forth.
Maybe it's not a good idea to lock people out of their accounts and then not respond to support tickets for months on end.
I'm not the only person that has had this issue so I'm fairly certain this is Valve doing shady and greedy things.
My old laptop broke but I'm currently trying to charge it, it's about 15 years old, however it has all of my steam stuff on it. I'm hoping it works because this is absolutely absurd. I can buy a car easier than I can get into my steam account. ACTUALLY I DID I bought a car in 15 minutes. Literally car sales people are better at being good people than Valve customer service.
I also attached several documents corroborating I am who I say I am and they show the physical street address my account was once associated with.
Along with a copy of my drivers license and all said screenshots.
See if you guys would read all the comments instead of just responding to respond and try to show I am some sort of scammer you'd see all of this has already been said.
Literally I even told them the exact address my account was originally registered too, told them my mom's name, and even showed screenshots of me as my avatar on steam (I'm not easily mistaken because I have several unique tattoos)
This is a bad customer service process and I say this as someone who owns an executive consulting firm that specializes in customer service and sales platform development for tech companies.
Also a major issue is response time from support. If it takes over a few hours most people will be upset, after a day they'd be pissed, after a week they don't do business with you anymore, and after a month usually people are contacting an attorney.
Lol you guys are arguing with someone who sees this for what it is, a massive money grab, and Valve is currently fighting a law suit based on the idea of trying to over charge people.
I'm not sure why you guys keep arguing but it's putting eye balls on the outstanding issue that other vet players have had as well.
Just do me a favor and keep commenting and keep this convo going.
I also have access to both emails that are and have been associated with my account and the phone number associated with the account as well.
This is the problem when you make a box and force people to fit neatly in that box typically it excludes a lot of people. I understand MFA but eventually there's got to be some flexibility for people outside the paramaters and a process to handle such customers.
I bought a car using my credit easier than I am gettign access to my steam account, let that sink in for a moment.
Bumping this thread does NOT give you ANY advantage whatsoever. Valve has given you the details of what you need to prove your ownership. They have banned you for breaking the rules and they will not side with you. Nobody will because the facts are there.
That is not the proof they require.
"Proof of Ownership" is established by submitting payment information previously used on the account or providing retail product codes that have been activated through Steam.
You could give them the kitchen sink and it would be irrelevant if it's not what they're asking for.
If you cannot provide what they're asking for, then that means that they will not release the account to you.
Greedy? What do they stand to gain from not letting you have the account?
If you can provide the account information that they desire, then it isn't your account is it? That's the way they see it. The way they see it is all that matters.
Let me tell you a little story, a few years ago my account was reported as not being mine. So my account was community banned. After about a week they replied back and verified that they account was mine and the ban was removed.
I didn't have to do anything but wait. In your case however more proof is needed. If you cannot provide that proof, as I said they are not going to unlock the account.

This account does not show up in search, it shows 0 games, and is basically wiped clean. That's why I keep saying this is Valve doing shady and unethical htings. You can't even search this account, when I came back to play CS 2 back in August or October I couldn't remember anything regarding the account ohter than my username and old password.
Another person said that me trying and maybe f'ing up the pass caused this. Which if that's the case fine, but it doens't change the fact that my photo is in the avatars in the screenshots.
Go back in the screenshots and eventually you'll see my avatar be a very tiny photo of me. That photo is also on my facebook from around 2013. Same with the current avatar on my current account, my old account, this account, and the one I was forced to make to originally play CS 2.
This process is the worst I've ever experienced and most of my work recently is in the insurance industry sooooo I know bad customer service lol.
If I can prove my identity with an electric bill in order to buy a car on my credit then why does it take such strict and rigid guidelines to unlock a steam account? Oh right because Valve is being sued for over charging customers and being sued for it so is it so outlandish they lock or disable accounts and require such strict requirements in order to make people give up and just buy teh same games multiple times.
Also my brother is on the friends list of my old account same with one of my lifelong gaming friends for DOD:S.
The strawman arguments are not going to be answered because comparing insurance which is a regulated product to an unregulated product is absolutely absurd and a strawman argument. Congrats on being a really bad troll. You can get lost now.
If you've been reading I'm photographed in my avatar on the screenshots and I have noticeably unique tattoos.
If one of your customers is asked to provide their driver's license and they give you a birth certificate that's not going to come across as strange to you?
You aren't providing the information that they are asking and that is why you cannot access the account. This is a you problem.
Disagreeing with you is not trolling.
