Well, that makes me wonder: are you buying all those people a new disk?
This is very serious Seagate disk array used for video work in DaVinci - believe me it is very fast enough! Verification is fake here and I can see it in many forums not just here as a problem experienced by many users. Its impossible similar in size game like BD3 here take already almost 1.5 hour and for example same World of Warcraft - full verification started in startup application just 1 and half minute - both is around 100GB and 156!
Let's not discuss hardware comparisons like children just expect from the developer add an option to disable this bug. I don't want it and I know not just me. It is practically completely unnecessary! 18+ years in warcraft for example and only maybe 5 times I had to verify something! Simple?!
I know exactly what I write and how it works, I am a programmer and developer too, so get to work Steam! Too many negative reviews are beginning to be seen around your service.
Well, I'm sorry but I must say that I'm struggling to find anything constructive in your comment, Mr. ReBoot. Do you remember what Gabe Newell said about the illegal games "market"?
Entire community? You would have to do a poll of the entire community to accurately reflect that stance and not a percentage of the community.
Secondly i disagree it needs removing or needs fixing as i have have zero issues with the verification process on my PC and i have BG3 on an SSD. I want the game to boot up and actually play it. If verification is removed i will not know about corrupted files stopping the game from booting and be frustrated it is not.
And finally trimming your SSD or defragging your HDD on a regular basis helps with the verification process, it also helps because all the game files are together when a patch is downloaded or when playing a game.
In the case of BG3 only changes made by a patch are verified and not the entire game.
Well, it's safe to say that some people are fine with the "risk". Hence it should be an option to disable/enable verification.
I don't know about you, but I've never had any corrupted files. All my verifications were a waste of time.
Verification should be done at least after downloading / installing, to make sure it was actually successful
I'd run a disk check, and make sure 15-20% of its capacity if fully free.
