What happened with the last steam awards?
Seriously, the last of us remake beating out pizza tower for best soundtrack!?! Did they’d tuff the ballot box or something?
I can see why maybe red dead 2 could beat out deep rock galactic, but TLOU beating PIZZA TOWER for best soundtrack!?
Idk about you guys, but I cannot believe that happened…
I’m a bit surprised Dave the diver won too, over potion craft and cities skylines 2, and I guess the starfield controversy didn’t do too much damage, but I cannot fathom pizza tower losing the soundtrack award… not only that, but hi-fi rush and chants of sennaar lost too!?!
Wtf happened? Was it a 2 to 3-way tie so they defaulted to the 4th place winner or something because they technically had the most votes per single game? That must be the only logical explanation…

Or am I just out of touch and TLOU actually had millions of people voting for it? Is it possible to see the actual quantity of votes for each title somewhere?

People voted, Valve had nothing to do with it. That is all there is to it.

Every year people make these topics about the rewards and how they must be rigged in some way.
Wait, people are still salty about this? XD
Popular games getting and winning votes in a popularity contest isn't exactly rocket science.

The community voted for the nominees in each category and then the community voted for the winners. The fact Red Dead 2 was selected as the labour of love should give you an indication as to how these things work and are concluded so there really is no point in complaining about the outcomes.

It really is that simple.
I wonder why so many people seem so incredulous of that fact.
This disturbs me.
So having the Steam Awards for games voted for directly by Steam users is the most democratic option we can have. So that's a good thing, right?
There's nothing democratic about a platform that has a bot problem
You're late to the party, buddy.

And to answer your question: People happened.

Not to mention Nominated.
Is it any real wonder that the games that won are also games that have a high degree of public awareness?

Yes, me.

That's great .

I completely forgot which games I voted for.

Did I even vote :bamboozledmmo2:?
Herd mentality…:summerparrot2023:

Being in the in group means more than being in reality…

If only you knew how bad it is out there.
More people played tlou than the game that actually deserved to win. It doesn't matter, it's even more meaningless than TGA
