to true now a days, i cant understand how companies with big budgets, cant bother to spend some on making quality products, instead of low effort products in quantity.
i miss the days when devs put effort and care into their games, its getting more rare by the day.
what makes it worse is when low budget games with single devs or very small teams can make better games that these big companies.
such as what blizzard did with Diablo ,warcraft , starcraft
all great games before 2000 era, now 25 to 30 years later complete garbage no body is even interested in. they are still releasing them but whats new about the games? what was new about the games 10 years ago? what was new about them 20 years ago?
companies simply seem to short fall the moment they make a extremely good and successful game, success is hard to follow it might do these companies well to just focus on the games they succeed with , things like Overwatch development and the price tag that went into the FPS shooter is why most of blizzards games are extremely disappointing today.
i used blizzard as the example because it was a huge developer, that just went bankrupt.
in my personal opinion i feel like android based game developers are doing much better works then the pc industry games, they seem far cheaper to produce , offer 100's or 1000's of more hours of game play and even profit due to the successful micro transactions within the games.
some have lasted now going on 7 or 8 years which is shameful considering a ton of high cost high development pc games can't make it that long.
well to be fair, i love and still play loads of those old games and for some, im glad they got remasters or w/e, but i do find lots that devs seem to have to fiddle with (ie...changing stuff no one asked them to change) instead of just a simple remaster.
look at diablo 2, still going strong since the late 90's and they even pushed out D2R which i like but still find its needs some more QOL,ect.. (including more stash space), same with starcraft/broodwar, SC2 is another big one, though some didnt adopt it and were more into the 1st one.
that all being said, aside from low effort, buggy and/or abandoned games being pumped out, im tired of all the cash grab mechanics and the "inflation" of prices for all these games, which include the outrageous prices on all the low effort games that arent even close to worth the price they ask.
what?
nah, i like and will continue playing sc2.
