No, I doubt you owned any Valve games aince MS-DOS 3.1
Valve wasn't founded until 1996.
one day support needs to stop! otherwise windows 98 should still be supported! and the day when win 7 support by steam stops is soon. could it have been earlier or later! sure. but one day it needs to stop!
what is meant by that, is that the account belongs to valve first off, you just rent it.
any games you put on the account are not actually yours, secondly, you just leased the game out for as long valve allow the account to remain operational or until the developer or publisher yank the game out or stop selling it altogether.
you may believe it worth some value, OP, but its actual value is nothing. just like these complains about not upgrading to windows 10 or moving across to Linux or Mac.
As far as i know, you can get around that.
But i think its better to use win 10 for 2 years (or use it beyond that as you did win 7, if you are fine with that). And then go to win 12 (in the meaning of, no need to use win 11)
MS even tells you when exactly they drop support for it.
So it is not a vague 2025, but a known date (14.10.2025).
BTW: Win 11 Version 21H2 got dropped at the 10 October of this year, so games which require a newer version of it wont run..

And Valve isn't worried about 0.69% of low value users rushing off to do piracy.... it would be a small drop in an ocean of ongoing piracy...
Also OP: Can't afford a computer during Black Friday.
As a side note, Linux is not a complete option. Many games still don't work on it and it is still a general pain in the ass. I will never have Win 8, 10 or 11 on my machine and will absolutely not have a virtual gun held to my head to force me. My reasons are my own and I don't care about yours.
20k before sales prices, additions of extreme cheap game bundles and free games.
So the real "value" is probably more around 5k.
No more official support from Microsoft.
Software companies are not obliged to maintain support to outdated OS forever.
My advice is for you to move on to something newer. Especially as newer games and hardware are released, and increasingly they themselves not supporting Windows 7 either.
