Looking for game recommendation (RPG / Metroidvania- Zeldalike)
Hello everyone :)

I'm looking for a new RPG / Metroidvania that I might like. The most important criteria to me would be:

- Non-linear / open / interconnected areas / world
- New skills/items/etc. over the course of the game

A few games I liked so far:
- Hollow Knight
- most Metroids / Castlevanias / Zeldas
- Dark Souls 1
- Death Stranding
- Elden Ring
- Returnal
- Horizon

Thanks in advance :)

The Deedlit game and the Shantae games are all great. There is also Monster Boy.

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

I already played the deedlit gameand Ender Lilies and I liked both 😁

Also I got most of the games from the humble pack, but that's a really cool package :)

Aren't Shovel Knight and the Messenger pretty linear games? Haven't played them yet, but that's what I heared

The messenger is linear, and I really wouldn't recommend it, one of the worst I played and overrated imo. As for suggestions, can't say if it's linear or not since I don't remember, but castle in the darkness is great.

Im preaty sure you are gona love Darksiders series everything about Darksiders is great till genesis.
It has a very deep lore. Top tier cinematics. Great soundtracks. Great atmosphere. Excelent story. I mean when you play the games you feel they make the game with love. it is sad many people still have'nt played yet.

castle in the darkness looks really good, but sadly has no cloud saves. I've put it on my wishlist until it hopefully gets cloud saves one day.

I actually never touched Darksiders, maybe this is a good moment to start with it :)

Thanks a lot for the additional recs :)

Dark Siders 1 feels like a hack-and-slash. Darksiders 2 feels like a Zelda game. Dark Siders 3 feels like a pile of garbage.
