You really have no idea how the FTC operates do you.
You guys really need to read up before you start making this grandiose assumptions.
Not for actions taken by someone else that YOU want them to be held accountable for.
Thank you for highlighting the difference. Feel free to learn from it, or not.
you said it is illegal and posted those links
they do not say what you say they did
only if steam/valve is involved in creating those reviews
either by paying for them (without disclosing it)
or using their employees to create fake accounts
would they get fined
it is very simple
all the rest is just you backtracking
Oh, so you're saying like Section 230 absolves them of any responsibility for others actions or something? Is that the debate now? Okay, then no, Valve is not a "Good Samaritan" of this type of content or bot users.
Yet you expect me or other community members to report to Steam? No thanks.
For all the Amazon hate, I guess they are the better "Good Samaritan" of this type of content or bot users. They however have also had the FTC breathing down their necks about those reviews, but never mind any of that, because that's not how it works according to any of you.
Actually Amazon.com is far worse than Valve.
But then you tend to go off the rails and talk like you know better so you do you.
There are fake and spam ascii that date posted back as far as 2019 - 2020. How's that working out? Would you like those to report?
Or you forgot to mention... that customers can report the obvious ones to the FTC too, instead of Amazon or Steam.
why are you so irritated anyway if you don't care?
its
isn't it?
also you said
Wrong. Amazon actually holds user reviews for a time for screening before they are posted. I've actually had a review denied, was for mentioning the other brand or something dumb.
Again Valve lets anyone, even bots post reviews with no screening at all other than the malicious url thing, and then expects to rely on user report as sufficient moderation for fakes, and spams. I don't thinks so.
I don't think Amazon would be any better off following Valve's bad business practices. Granted I've still seen some sketchy reviews once in a while. But not the full on bot, fake, spam or ascii we can find posted on Steam daily. There is no promptness here to remove any of it. Users here with whole product reviews filled with cats spam. Amazon is not allowing accounts to do that are they? Steam is so much more .And for POINTS too!
No suffering here, all is good. Thank you! If anyone is to receive an education, insight it will be the FTC.
I guess Valve simply didn't know that they have user groups full of duplicate accounts that spam similar user review phrases over periods of months in DOTA2 and CS2. And there some other game reviews that fall into the category of sus, because who owns all these duplicate accounts?

But don't trust the guy with numbers, and a single on one review.
We're going to waste our time reporting every single one to Steam, right community?

I'd say extensively procured. GG Clouds!
And they tell me comprehension is not my thing. But I see what's going on.
One more of the reasons why im not on reddit or twitter nor living in forums - becuase theyre all the same with the same lost, toxic and respectless people.
RIP internet, one moderator should close this thread duo to sensless arguments and toxicity - oh yes and ban me for my opinion XD.
