But you need to reformat your computer to ensure you have got rid of all traces of the cheats so that VAC won't pick up on them when you try to play a different VAC protected game.
its a bit confusing now...
As you have multiple bans, you clearly keep cheating or have failed to reformat your system to fully remove all traces of the cheats.
Just deleting the cheat does not always remove all of the cheats files from your computer.
Unless your a software engineer, a factory reset is needed to remove all traces of the cheats from your system.
Better to go through a reformat, than to get banned again.
Unsurprisingly, cheat makers aren't the most honest of people and dishonest people may feel motivated to write dishonest software. Pressing that X isn't necessary enough to close a program.
Anyone who says merely having a File on your PC gets you banned is stating false Information and has no Idea what theyre talking about, btw, all this Information can also be read up on official Valve FAQ's.
Youre overprojecting random bs into a simple topic merely because of your dislike of cheaters. While i understand the dislike for such people, having it influence your Comments on such topics doesnt help anyone.
The only real Truth this has is that Cheats sometimes have to disguise as unrelated drivers for specific anticheats, however, VAC does not need this extensive hiding, as it is not as intrusive as EAC or Battleye.
Regardless, all in all, a PC Restart will be enough to not have any cheat or related drivers loaded anymore, unless the Cheat is actual proper absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and the Coder doesnt know how to wipe the traces, however, even if there are traces left over, that still wont get you banned just for playing a Game, especially not in a Sourcegame.
Traces of such Origin have no Relevance to any Anticheat, you have no Idea what youre talking about.
You have no evidence of your claims, and no one needs to be spreading misinformation on VAC.
even if the user isn't using the cheat? that's kind of unfair, what's so wrong about it being stored on your pc
its actually good practice.
yes you are right, if they have the sense to download the cheat, they can, in fact, operate it correctly.
however, most cheats have been taken and rebundled with malware.
i commonly snitch cheats to the vac dev team, and a lot of the packages i find are put in a secure sandbox with zero permissions on a test rig, to watch the program behavior, and the amount of these that have undetected malware bundled with it, and try to make calls to outside servers, is uncommon, but it happens. sometimes the antivirus will catch it, other times it wont.
nuking the pc, its an assured way to ensure your pc is not infested with such garbage, especially when dealing with people who are in shock they just got caught and banned and can't think correctly.
they may have made a mistake but they're also capable of making further mistakes. its a good catch-all method to start fresh.
