I just discovered that you can't do that. No idea if it was like that previous year. Either way it's silly since you're making the outcome less objective. Average Joe like me will now nominate something indie-like for GOTY instead of choosing something like Hogwarts: Legacy or Atomic Heart. It's not like I care, but the results will be fun to see.

Let's play, streams, reviews on highly anticipated games usually help. I have only played a few AAA titles in the last several years but watched a lot of them and read reviews. Still, it's a fun challenge - find something little known instead of what's hyped. I'm up for it.

Some games are available on other platforms, also that figure is totally isolated and gives no clue as to how many people who voted were from inside or outside that 'average'.

So yeah taking a single figure and applying it in broad strokes is a very bad idea. Or lies, damn lies and statistics.

If it doesn't have a store page in your region, you cannot nominate a game. It's always been like that since voting was a thing.

For that matter one of the winners for 2019 was a game regionally restricted in my region.
