EAC issue
I'm getting Timeout on Rust with the EAC issue as well. I verified the game file, deleted cache memory in Rust and still happening. Rust is saying it is a Steam issue now???

Here's a full list of troubleshooting tips:

https://support.facepunchstudios.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019318037-EAC-Authentication-Timeout

1) Close Rust and wait 10 minutes, to clear the server cache
2) Verify game files
3) Repair EAC
4) Reboot PC and reset/reboot internet connection
5) Verify EAC connectivity
6) Check for Windows Updates
7) Check your antivirus settings
8) Delete "RustClient.eac.exe"
9) Check for "forbidden applications"
10) Fresh reinstall of Rust

If you've done those steps, and the issue still isn't resolved then yes there's a glitch that's preventing Steam Client from allowing server access. Other games have recently experienced authentication errors, including TF2 and CS2, but please remember that Steam's services operate from Microsoft's servers, not through Steam or Valve.

As of January 1st, Valve's Steam Client is only compatible with Windows 10 or later. Shutdowns of this magnitude are known to cause service hiccups, but games that operate on x86 frameworks shouldn't be affected.

It's a big issue that many users are having.

Try posting in the Rust forum.

Or maybe, I dunno... submit a help ticket to Steam Support?

They are for account and billing issues, not for fixing other company's game.

Ah, so they really don't handle Steam-side issues anymore... good to know!

Eac is not a steam issue as they only deal with their version of a anti-cheat called vac / valve anti-cheat.

Third party versions are not something steam can control.

Already covered that part:

I don't mind getting yelled at, I'm not fond of being yelled at out-of-context. I also don't appreciate getting jumped on when providing useful information, it tends to give other users the wrong impression that you have a vested interest in the problem.
No one is yelling at you and you made a post saying EAC was a steam side issue when it's not.

According to OP's own words, it is. (Bold emphasis is mine.)

So between OP's own words, and mine, it does appear that you may have erred in your approach towards shutting down an otherwise productive conversation.

BTW... I liked your previous pfp better. Morrigan from Darkstalkers is a classic.

What Rust "says" is absolutely irrelevant, EAC is NOT a "Steam issue", Steam has absolutely nothing to do with EAC.
