Do you have broadcasting enabled? Steam might be enumaerating your webcam devices to see what devices are available for broadcasting

I covered the two webcams of my laptop in black nail polish, I also disabled the microphone.
My cam is covered with black electrical tape, and my microphone is also disabled.

Every av/security suit can give false positives.
And a lot open more security holes then they protect you from....

I have my laptop lid closed typically. You can also disable Cabability Access service to disallow usage of microphone and cams.

I use Windows Defender and I'm happy with it, never had issues with viruses, trojans, or other crap.
I've been using AVG for about 25 years. Only ever had 1 problem slip through, and AVG had it fixed within 24 hours. However, the past couple of years, AVG has turned into nagware, always wanting me to upgrade to a higher tier or buy another one of their products.

Funny you should mention, TODAY, that you've never had a problem with Windows Defender. Earlier I was talking to a guy who runs a computer shop, and he said he's been using Defender for over 10 without a single problem. Maybe it's a sign I should switch?

Norton and good in the same sentence?! Norton are so "good" they actually put a cryptominer in their AV to make themselves more money :steamfacepalm:
I *think* they paid you 30%? of the profits but it's scummy as hell.

Norton have never been good, they've always been absolute planks. The only people who buy this rubbish is those who get done at the counter or never did any research at all.
Im honestly amazed Norton have lasted all these years because it's no secret how bad they are.
They are slightly better than PC-cillin, that is not saying much. It is like deciding how to get kicked in the crotch. I had a laptop with them and I hated it.
