Ubisoft games = mostly without steam achievements
Hey guys,

why do so many ubisoft games on steam (many assassins creeds, the whole far cry series and many other) wont get steam achievements?
For me as achievement hunter it is a huge stop sign for buying them and I really dont know why they wont get them.
Is it for "exclusivity"? So I dont get them on steam?

Maybe someone has an answer for me.

Happy hunting :krheroes:

So it is for exclusivity. They want to force players to get their games on their platform. Alright, I already thought that but wasnt sure.
But in that case they loose a customer and I think not just me

We all know Ubi is the laziest of the bunch.

They don't care to do them 2x.

EA actually has Steam achievements though.

Somehow I don't think they are too concerned about that. The "little guy" isn't as important as the "little guy" thinks he is. Welcome to Corporate Capitalism.

Yeah I know. But many little guys will still leave a negative impact on their numbers of sales. But when their math is working, ok

The problem is not enough people care to really impact on their numbers.

The "problem" is.... most people do not care where the achievment pops up, they just want to Play the game.

Ubisoft only cares about their own eco sphere.

But if you care about your games to last , I would not bother with Ubisoft to begin with. With both EA and Ubisoft games you are dependent on their servers. Even if your game or way of playing is just singleplayer.

Aye, that is the thing about "the little guy". Very influential when they all are bent on something, but that doesn't happen often. It might be that some of that influence is amplified by the rarity of these "mass upheavals".

The Ubisoft Connect achievements aren't exclusive because you'll still be playing it through that app if you buy the game on Steam. No matter where you buy the game you'll get the same experience.
