I'm so sick of 3rd party DRM.
Steam shouldn't even allow this. I feel violently angry every time I can't play a game I bought on Steam because I can't get into old accounts or get my game authenticated. I've fallen on especially hard times financially speaking, so I've been browsing my library to play games from better times, and it's just SO FRUSTRATING to download them and then have to fight like hell to play, especially since the companies who do this (Ubisoft, Rockstar, Blizzard, etc.) have the worst customer service.

I just want to play Farcry 4 for Christ's sake. I spent money on it, I should be allowed to play. This happened days ago with Now I just want to cry.

Why don't you store the passwords?

Valve not allowing it will very, very likely mean those publishers just pull the games. You'd still need their logins then. So why don't you purchase them on their own launchers/stores anyway?

why are you so flippant with your purchases?

I agree, but there's little we can do about it. If you feel like it, you can do the following: 1) don't buy games with third-party DRM, 2) vote up negative reviews that complain about it (or post one), and 3) ask the publisher to remove it in the forum. #1 probably won't have any effect, #2 will be ignored as "review bombing", and #3 will also probably be ignored. But maybe they'll make you feel better.

So you cause problems for yourself and then blame others? Remembering or safely storing a few passwords is not hard at all.

It's been DRM since day one, literally. And by day one I mean since the day it launched, September 12th 2003

Ubisoft launcher doesn't save any passwords even if you tick "remember me". never saves password and asks to enter it again when you run some games. hard to imagine more annoying launcher than that. it does it for various devices and the result is always the same - enter your email and password twice to play something. Ubi should burn in hell. I support OP

Then Stick with Gog - The End. Steam is doing better all the time, but as long as people are willing to buy games with it, then publishers will keep trying to do it. This will only end when people stop making 'the wrong thing' profitable.

I don't mean that, I mean store the password via a password manager or writing it down.

This is why I never bought games on Steam what use 3rd party account, atleast from big companies like Ubi, EA, Bethesda. I have some minor 3rd party launcher games however, but most of these linked to steam instantly and dont need extra authentications..

In fairness to the developers I'm pretty sure they're sick of a certain group of people trying to pirate their games hence the need for DRM.

When you start placing blame on the right group of people for DRM I'll be more than happy to agree with you. The sad part is you don't. It is all about you. Games aren't made for a specific person unless it says so and you are no different.

Make your opinion known to the developer and vote with your wallet. That is what I have done in the past and will continue to do in the future.

BTW I am one of those people who continues to buy these games because I love them more than caring there is a set protection on them from pirates. When pirating games stops I'll be more than happy to 100% agree with you all that every game having a DRM needs to stop immediately. Until then I am against it.

There is a remember password for ubisoft launcher so either check your pc settings or make sure you are not using a outdated version if you do not launch it often as this can also cause the issues.

no matter where you store it. if their app cannot remember password I bet their reset password just as lame. if someone should take it to customer service instead of manually resetting their password no amount of password managers or notepad pages would help making it better.

Weird. Mine does it no problem.

That's an issue with really old games only.

it never worked for me. I tried from probably 4 different PCs and from GFN
what are you talking about man? what PC settings? it never saves login data, even if I'll close and reopen the app immediately.
