Steam and Steam Awards has lost all its prestige and respect

Starfield) First off starfield is not innovative at all. What is starfield innovating that other games don't have? "Your only move is hustle" a $3 dollar game which was nominated is actually innovative, it's a turn based fighting game that plays out in the end, and fights can be absolutely incredibly, almost cinematic.

What did bethesda innovate that i haven't seen before? The engine they use is outdated and the same thing as any of their previous just with better graphics, they depend on modders to innovate for them, in fact, modders do the vast majority of innovating for bethesda.

Another nominee is "Shadows of Doubt" which revolves around you being a detective and fighting generated killers and serial killers.


Red dead 2) Labor of lobe...How did the game that got abaonded years ago in favor of GTA 5 get labor of love? They barely touch that game at all. GTA 5 got more "labor of love" from rockstar than red dead, so how did this even end up on there? Rockstar's customers and fans mostly play GTA 5. Red dead 2 is a great game, but it's been abandonedware most of it's life.




And notoriously bad games such as overwatch 2 (which went free to play, placing all future and some past heroes behind a paywall) gained a lot of negative rep from many other recent problems blizzard introduced, gets nominated for steam awards? The game sitting at overwhelming negative not only on steam but all across the net? I believe valve got paid money to put the game there, steam has like millions of games with way more people playing than overwatch and overwatch got nominated?

And then blizzard's Diablo 4 gets nominated too? The game that lost a massive amount of players because it was just a horrible cash grab, the game that got crapped on by the entire internet because it's generally a bad game. I spent $90 on that crap before it even released. And i had to force myself to play it because I felt obligated to the $90 i spent on it.

Steam Awards effectively means nothing, showed me nothing new or exciting only promoted over budgeted trendy games with a lot of them sitting at "very negative" to "overwhelming negative" to "mixed."

Valve has been brought to court so many times over the years too, i don't believe they are honest or creating a fair environment. With money laundering and scams being supported on their platform and valve doing nothing but a simple "remove" and not take any legal actions against those who intentionally scam their platform's users. Because they don't care, probably a moderator will delete this, but i'm used to it. Steam moderators are completely bias and don't apply the same rules to individual users, which is why A.I would be better than the collective steam support moderation team and their associates.


I remember i jokingly asked if a game was "woke" without offending anyone, and a steam support moderator gave me a week ban, and then we have people who intentionally write post full of hate and display their politics on a full scale all that happens is a thread closed.

I asked why is armored core woke because people were calling it that, and i just get a 1 week hard ban. And i've sent countless examples of other posts not getting banned and they just use a generic message and don't answer anything. What a crappy support system and crappy official moderators.

Valve/steam is just becoming worse and more crap.

As far as I know its also against the forum rules to discuss bans so basically OP nullified their entire topic by the ending where it talks about their ban...something Valve will close topics over as this is not the place to do it

I'm not saying i didn't deserve it, i'm saying that steam moderators aren't consistent, and don't apply the same action for people who do the same or worse offenses.

Steam is just becoming a massive joke. There are tons of anti woke posts still up that i reported, and then brought up my ban and asked why haven't they received the same punishment to steam support and i get the generic message. Just very unprofessional, the whole platform is just a joke now.


And in general i'm talking about how steam has fallen so much for me, not only does steam awards reek of something fishy, their official support is inconsistent, nor longer hand out warnings. Asking why a game is woke doesn't break any of the rules, and there are people who make a whole thing about it with their posts still up with the comments in their thread being far worse than the initiate post opening post (OP). It's just a giant joke.

It's not that deep. For each reward Valve presents some suggested candidates, people are more likely to vote for one of those than hunt the store for something else. Starfield, Diablo 4, RDR2, all were in those default suggested titles.

Starfield and Red Dead Redemption had absolutely no reason to be winners. Same goes for the Last of Us.
It's depressing how flawed the Steam Awards is.

Agreed, i'm just waiting to be banned now. Steam support moderators will ban me any second for probably 1-3 months. I'm completely fine with it because neither does steam support moderators reply to you in their ban message they send, nor does steam support answer you too, they respond with the same generic message, so there is no one to talk too. Their word is final, no more warnings. Steam support is more draconian and harsh than game developers who moderate their own discussion board. Steam seriously needs A.I if they want to be neutral and stand for nothing except for money. Bans and ban time is completely arbitrary and inconsistent. A.I will bring better results, there will be some problems with it, but it would be far more appealing, since steam moderators have no time to measure the offense or even respond back to comments.

God i hope the worst happens to valve.
