Dogsh*t take, bait used to be believable
I think it's a good laugh that a Bethesda title wins an innovation award and I certainly wouldn't have expected it. But if the community wants to vote for a popular title by a big publisher in a popularity contest, that's fine by me. But I generally have no issue with trivial things like awards not having the results that I agree with.
Edit: wait, didn't they lose out on that award more recently?
NMS and DRG have lost in the "finals" a few times now. Not sure about Astroneer.
Edit: also, Astroneer seems like it might be too niche to make it to the finals, but IDK for sure.
I would be okay with the results if people actually bothered to do some basic research with the finalists and formed an actual informed opinion, so I think labeling my opinion as simply "not liking the results" is overly reductive and missing the point.
A company as big as Valve can certainly spare the resources to figure out how to make something like this work, and if they can't be bothered then they should not make them in the first place, let alone repeat the same mistakes year after year.
