I have already understood that some people choose not to upgrade to Windows 10 and plus, did you forgot that steam will no longer receive updates on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 instead of actually stop running?
The following message is still present on all Store games though:
* Starting January 1st, 2024, the Steam Client will only support Windows 10 and later versions.
This is coming from someone who also used Windows 7 and enjoyed it.
I might downgrade soon though to Windows 10 v1809-RS5 LTSC build 17763 which will have Microsoft support up until the year 2029.
Windows 7 was supported up until January 2020.
The message was like before december. However i noticed they didn't update the translations so only original US English version mentions steam not recieving updates and client continuing to work for some time.
While for example when i switch to my native language (Polish) it just says flatout that Steam will stop working on Windows 7 and i need to update. No mention of updates or "continuing to work for some time"
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 doesn't force you to upgrade to Windows 11 and you can keep using it until 2027 (non-IoT) or 2032 (IoT)
