Will it be "in -1 days" tomorow on that red counter?
Make your bets, lads. Because I do believe in Valve's coding disability, but want to see that with my very eyes.

PS: Don't forget to disable auto-updates ot it won't be fair, boo-boo-boo.

Well.... I finally got it to work after cleaned the PC with Iolo System Mechanic and restarted.

@Crashed, After I tried to download the Legacy Update, don't know if it installed, since they keep asking me to change Google to Yahoo where I answered NO, I like Google, lol, so I don't really know if it installed, Thanks for the help

@InfernusMatrix, I tried to look at the Steam Shortcut, have no Idea where to add all those things in there, lol, I am Computer Illiterate, But thank You for Your help

I meant the app at legacyupdate.net which swaps the Windows Update servers to alternate servers that get around Windows Update errors while updating the root certificates.

Yes Crashed, I did download it from that site, but they want me to change to Yahoo and I want to keep Google. The funny thing is that after I downloaded it to my Window 7, They even asked me on my Window 10 to accept Yahoo for the Download, I'm not really ready for it now, but I keep the link, Thank You for Your help!
right click and edit your shortcut for steam on your desktop or toolbar. ONLY use this to launch steam from now on.

in target shortcut you should put this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -noverifyfiles -nobootstrapupdate -skipinitialbootstrap -norepairfiles -overridepackageurl

Thank You for explaining it so well, I'll try that

Glad to hear this, so it must be on my side that Steam is down on Window 7, at least I hope We still can keep the website!
Try installing Legacy Update to make sure you have root certificates updated as far as it will go.

FFS are we telling people to install unauthorized root certificates bcause they want to run some older client.

Please absolutely positllviey do not do this

Sometimes you have to throw the conservatives a bone.

long as you added:
-noverifyfiles -nobootstrapupdate -skipinitialbootstrap -norepairfiles -overridepackageurl

to your steam shortcut before any of the updates it should still work. Working fine here!
You will lose connection via the client if you don't update.
As the web browser site works regardless of OS, it can still be used but the client WILL stop working after some time this year on any OS before Win10.
Though you cannot launch your games via the browser, only manage your account and access the store.

and your steam will upgrade itself if you'll run game from desktop shortcut. use config instead of command line.
I assumed that they were counting down to an update where they introduce a newer version of chromium. If that is the case, with luck, it is being held back until it is good and ready, especially with what happened sometime last year.

My guy. If you think Valve is holding back something until it's ready, I can only point you to the last big client update where the back button was broken for months. The Valve of the '00s is gone.

Isn't it still a bit hit or miss?

That was part of the update I was referring to.

Dunno, I'm not using that client.
