When do privated game actually become private?

The question is exactly what it sounds like, I wanted to test out the new Privacy option from the Beta so I quickly privated "YEAH! YOU WANT "THOSE GAMES," RIGHT? SO HERE YOU GO! NOW, LET'S SEE YOU CLEAR THEM!" (I just picked a random game from my library), and turned it on, but it still was saying that I was playing it despite the option for it being private was on.

Does it just take time to fully private, or are you the only one why can see the "Now playing ___" status on your account?
