Yea, i remember there was an portable version of linux called knoppix or something like that, it was bootable from cd, if some new version would be able to run steam for just downloading the game that would be a alternative option in some degree, as not all games on steam need steam to launch them.

you can use any Linux distro to make it run from pen drive. some are already distributed way. yep, it will allow to run steam somehow (running from slow usb would make system sluggish but would be OK if just for downloading).

Also I have friends on Steam who are also Ukrainians and they'd be ashamed of what you just wrote. Yes, they're facing the same, ongoing war, but not even they would go out and make wild posts like this one.

That doesn't change the fact that it died in 2015 for feature support, and lost extended life support in 2020. It's a dead operating system. Dead = No support, No new features, No fixes, No security updated, etc etc.

It's below 3% of operating systems used around the world. It's not even being used in businesses now. It's only high market is one country, China at 23%, and that's dropping rapidly and when it drops the 3% global usage will drop to under 0.50%.

Okay, to make one thing perfectly clear, because my statement regarding fixing ones problems might have been misunderstood, I exlusively meant fixing the problems of not being able to use Steam with Windows 7 in the future. (Which I still think is a miniscule problem taking into account the available options to fix it). Complaining about it will not change anything and one could use their time more efficiently by working on getting this problem fixed ahead of time, like using Linux or Windows 10.
This might have not been clear enough but I guess this doesn't matter anymore, since Kitty blocked me, because Kitty read it as a personal attack. I agree, that this would have been harsh but I was misunderstood in what I actually meant. It took an additional post complaining about me for me to understand why the frak Kitty felt so insulted. This is the problem with the internet. Ambiguities. I am afraid I can't do anything about that to clarify.
