RE Dark mode/dark colors -->
----
Right, agreed.
I use Dark mode whenever I can (i.e. if the app/website supports it).

Such as for Windows 10, MS Office, MS Visual Studio, Viber, Skype, FB Messenger, Signal, Telegram, Gmail (website) and so on. :)

Of course, Steam's forums are nicely black (dark blue?) too. :)

All microsoft want is spying on you.. they dont care about the OS at all.. Windows have died after 7.

Wholeheartedly agree and wish everyone else saw it that way. But we literally live in Idiocracy so...

I forget if you've said this elsewhere but what Linux distribution(s) do you use and would recommend?
I think it would be linux mint.

for new user - yes, Linux Mint (Debian based) would be perfect start.

I'm here to advocate for dual boot with Linux. I already said earlier I won't upgrade as I'm not losing many games (most works from Linux and if I'll need few games I can get PS3 disk).
From now on I will be getting only native Linux games. no Proton, no Windows games, just 100% working Linux games, DRM free.

If you never dabbled with Linux before then Mint would be an easy recommendation.

I somewhat agree with the general idea that Microsoft lost their ways after 7. Which , is why I've been trying to transition to Linux for a while.

btw, you can do that on your own pace. you can install your Linux to virtualbox drive and gradually install apps, customize as you see fit. revert changes if something goes wrong.
once you're happy with the result you can convert it to normal disk partition and boot from it.

I always suggest this way to people who wants to install Arch for the first time :) you will have step-by-step guidance in another window vs being alone with terminal.

Well, I tend to gravitate around EndeavourOS. It's really the distro that interests me the most. All the power of Arch without the initial headache of setting it up.

Fedora is the other one I like but after dabbling with it a bit. I think I'll mostly use it for the old desktop for when my sister comes over and need a computer to use.

If you look at Microsoft Windows market share, then take a LONG hard look as macOS, ChromeOS and Linux market share it does not really seem like Microsoft lost anything, just gained or at least kept their share. :)

Okaaayy. Then what was the point? :)

I would say if Microsoft lost their ways with Windows 8.0 and 8.1, Windows 10 was a clear success so they went back on track with it. :)

Also, you said you were "trying to transition"?
Why just trying, what is stopping you to fully commit to Linux?

Gaming on a pc is sort of a privilege, people who can't and won't stay up to date with their rigs need to move over to consoles.
