Are FPS In the 50s ok for racing games?
When i travel i use an old laptop, aint near as close to be as good as my workstation but is keeping up with new realeases or some of em, now i started to play forza motorsport on game pass, the thing is i kinda put some settings on high and very high some on low, i got an average of 63, but the lowest drops are 52, is kinda ok for a racing game? or shall i drop something to keep a min of 55 or min 60?

Only you can know...

I grew up with racing games that didn't even go at half that framerate. The limit is you, friend.

Would really depend on the game, why not play it and adjust the game settings until you find a combination that feels comfortable to you?

Personally a stable frame frate is more important then a higher frame rate IMO, but each person has different tastes and thresholds.

If you're fine with 50s, what do you care what other people think? If you're not, why do you need permission to lower settings to increase FPS?

its not about being right or wrong, for exemple some people said lower fps in racing games when you play online means some litle imput lag vs the oponents or smth like that

If you play online. Prioritize framerate. Solo? heh, up to you.

FPS in racing games doesn't matter as much as in first person shooters. Playing with 50-ish FPS should be fine. You can always lower a setting or two and try going for 60+ and see how it feels.

you should be fine unless it drops lover than 45, then you can start noticing something compared to 60 and up. limit it to 60 to reduce heat. I prefer to have best textures and big range of view so even if it will reduce my fps to 30-45 I'll play on 30 instead of using blurry foggy image with 60 fps.

Maybe in arcade racers but if youre running sims its just as important as in an FPS.

depends on the game, skilled games are ver fps and lag dependent whereas for example rts games that are still skilled but not lag dependent or racing games that are on rails of sort ie some racing games are much easier like fake drag racing that epends less on lag when its not much traffic is ok, i tried as axample old fps game almost unplayable with slight mouse lag since it depends on precidse mouse control.

I dunno, I'm skeptical about all the input lag fuss. Like I played games for decades before it was ever brought up and now people are convinced that a couple of ms, a tiny fraction of a blink, is going to make or break every action they take. If someone is kicking my ass, optimizing input lag probably isn't going to turn the tide in my favor is all I'm saying.

Maybe there's some professional level where you need to min-max like that and you can if you want. But then we're also talking game specific optimizations and I think professional level game specific optimizations to reduce input lag might be a bit beyond the scope of this forum. And that's not really the question you asked in your OP anyway. You just asked if 50's FPS was OK. And that's a pretty vague question, which warrants my original response I feel.

If input lag is important to you then my question is when you research what to do to min-max input lag in Forza, what did you discover and what's the question. Do the things your research recommends, rando users on a general forum probably aren't going to have better advice.

Be sure to have SMOOTH FPS during racing&driving oriented games. Stable framerates will make your driving perception smoother and will make your laptimes lower (Faster). If V-sync is not possible due to some hardware limitations, Fix your fps or at least LIMIT it, somewhere between 45-60.

In my old machine, i could play racing games as long as FPS was over 32. But it was on a CRT monitor, so 32 may not be enough for current monitors.
