Valve, anti consumer practices are creating E-waste
By making perfectly fine working hardware redundant because Valve is too lazy to maintain software (You had one job, literally) - Valve is supporting E-waste instead of letting people use their machines to the full extent of the hardware's lifetime.

Good job Valve.

They are not supposed to support a third party OS who's been ditched by its makers (almost) 4 years ago. Microsoft also only recently abandoned the free upgrade to W10/11 with a W7/8 key, people literally has 8 years to upgrade at no cost.

Valve created its own OS and made gaming on Linux a real thing thanks to Proton.
You still can switch to Linux for free, stop making up issues where there's none or your own fault.

Remember, Chromium is making the change that makes everything stop working with Win 7. Valve/Steam is just one of the companies using that middleware.

And, if your hardware is so old that it literally *can't* upgrade to Win 10/11? It's *been* used "to the full extent of it's lifetime."

(as it is, game system requirements going higher and higher is a bigger push for people to upgrade hardware and throw away the old.)

Technology doesn't stand still and hardware makes itself redundant by aging.

Do you complain this much in real life?

Not as much e-waste as your topics.

I find amazing how you keep finding new things to be mad at Valve for.

I'd counter your point by saying Valve is just a victim, forced by both Microsoft and Google dropping support for both their OS and embedded framework... But we all know e-waste isn't the point of this thread.
did you know that washing your clothes is contaminated everything in waters and now we are finding particles of washing waste in humans...

but e waste is not good... i take my old e waste to a recycle centre...
can you windows 7 people do that if you have to throw away your old computers..

throwing your old computer out the window onto the street is not good for the environment..

Windows 7 still works unlike Valves plan to brick people's games libraries and create e-waste

Oh, this is the new angle? Too bad Valve was one of the companies that supported Windows 7 longer than the developers.

Otherwise you might have had a point.

It's amazing how OP keeps finding new ways to continue shaming companies even though this all started with OP not researching their purchase and purchasing a lemon.

There is NO REASON why they cannot make an archive vesrion of win7 steam instead of bricking their customers.

No amount of white knighting will change the fact

The software for accessing the libraries still works.

There is a reason.

Those refusing to update aren't worth the work and cost. This thread is proving that quite well.

The reason is, they are a terrible anti-consumer company.
