Days Gone is also another - had a miserable release on the PS4 but the PC port was solid and it's a rare case of an open world game that didn't outstay its welcome with bloat or worthless gameplay padding. I got a good 45 hours out of it and was still left wanting. The biking was really satisfying as was the mechanics and the zombie hordes also impressed.
Both games sold quite well and were popular so they aren't exactly hidden gems but they are somewhat underrated and probably deserved more recognition and sales. Ubisoft certainly paid a big price and Bend probably should've got their initial port better because that impacted people's view when they hit PC even though massive improvements were made.
I havent played CoaDE, but I know enough of this game to agree with You.
My hidden gems... hard to say, but few that I remember of:

I play it currently and this really is an underrated gem. Very climatic, very nicely designed and seems to have good replayabilty. And almost nobody knows this game... how come?

Very good game, but I believe it seems to have some problems with late game balance. Nonetheless: worth trying if one likes tactical games.

Most probably one of most underrated games ever... of course if you like this genre. There are some really good ideas behind this game... But this is one of those love or hate games, so it has mixed opinions. Still, worth trying.

Hard West has mixed opinions at this moment. I consider this title to be easily 7/10. It gave me really a lot of great gaming experience. It does require certain attitude though.

Competitor to Ceasar series. I guess Ceasar does many things bit better, but GA Rome is really a good and almost unknown game.

This game is actually half baked. It has not been fully developed, it has some technical problems - at some point these problems can make this title unplayable. But the visuals are sooooo great... I mean: not the hi-end graphics stuff, but visuals being actual graphics as made by artists.
Dosbox game.
I love the mechanics of using saints and alchemy and the infinite it seems side quests to do at will.
You could make your entire game just pursuing alchemy ingredients and knowledge if you really wanted to.
Me I like making a band of do goody thugs beating up robber knights and bandits.
The manual is a good read and sets the atmosphere right for the game.
Set in Medieval Germany where fact is scarier than fiction....
This game is the pinnacle of FPS gaming, i can safely say that this is the best fps game ever existed and no game will be amazing as much as this game
The game is completely unfair, unbalanced, too difficult and even impossible to complete on hardest difficulty unless you have lots of patience
The sound design, movement and the graphics are just ahead of its time
This game has more action than %100 all of the games came out in the last 10 years

This game was a novelty back then. I loved it. But I guess it was popular few decades ago. Not quite hidden gem. More like just the oldie.

The game is like a FPS but the objective is to rack up high scores by creating chain reactions, the bigger the chain, the higher the score.
I was pleasantly surprised by the game and have around 100+ hours play time. There are scoreboards so as you get better you can see yourself moving up that board. I found it a really enjoyable game.
