Isn't it spelled Türkiye in English?
MWIII is ₺1999,99 = $70.82 and not $79. In the US, it is $69.99 + taxes.
And I wouldn't use Activision as an example anyways.
You aren't really understanding what is happening. They are converting the currency to USD and also making their own region. So just because the price is in USD doesn't mean it will be the same price that the game is priced in US regions......
Yeah umm that is the entire reason why. Instead of listing the game in Lira which is constantly dropping requiring devs to constantly update prices its listed in USD which is stable. It doesn't mean its priced the same as it is in the US though
Steam will survive just fine with fewer Turk customers. Turks who move to other platforms will do just fine too, until those platforms follow suit of course.
This is an erroneous interpretation of the situation. Game developers and publishers set the prices for their games. They have decided they want to get paid in stable currency with some value, not unstable currency with low value.
Another user has already pointed out that this is incorrect.
I mean, sorry, but oh well? Your country has been in an economic crisis since 2018 and you're ranting at Steam because game developers and publishers want to be paid in stable currency with some worth, which unfortunately does not describe the Turkish lira at this time.
Not really.
1200 lira = $42.43 USD right now. Maybe I'm misreading, but it seems like you think the 1200 lira is worth more than it actually is.
Is there someone in the room with you actually forcing you to buy something? I doubt it. It would probably be a savvy move to use it now before your money continues to plummet in value over the next few weeks and ends up being worth even less USD than it currently is (which you even acknowledged so??) but if your misguided principles are worth more to you then it is what it is.
Dude 1 Turkish lira is worth a fraction of 1 USD or 1 Euro right now. I'm not sure what you expected would happen but you're pointing the finger at the wrong people.
Whether you or anyone else accepts it or not is irrelevant, it's happening and it will continue to be this way until Turkey can put its economy back on track. You'll have to accept the reality of that sooner or later.
Good luck with that.
Lol whatever man don't use it then.
The currency for these two regions are not direct USD prices as steam will recommend a reduced cost because of the economies in these two areas.
Perception Management.
its how much the dev/pubs want to get paid for their games in your places..
and USD is
the easiest way for them to get you to pay what they want....
