can't apply any updates to 7 unless you changed the update call-up address. microsoft changed update addresses, i checked the computers i work on occasionally. noticed after reinstalling 7 earlier last year (now using a linux kernal) they still have the service packs for win7, but you have to go to original manufacturers for hardware drivers.
so absolutely no way to update drivers, since i've forgotten when.
yep from the manufacturers site or use a program like driver booster.
Online driver updates work fine. Installed new USB device drivers automatically this weekend.
Read the release notes and pay attention to the details in these two sentences.
UpdatePack7R2 for Windows 7 SP1 and Server 2008 R2 SP1
Description
The package is designed to integrate updates into Windows 7 SP1 x86-x64 and Server 2008 R2 SP1 x64 distributions, as well as their installation on the working system. The installation program works with any edition of these operating systems, any bit depth and in any language.
they are for kernel base nt 6.1, thus they work and update on said OS's running said kernel base.
fact are facts, end of story.
