Just remember there’s no Windows 7 drivers for any of that so you’ll have to go all-in on Linux ;)
Since this is a neverending cycle with windows, on long term there are no other options
It’s not like Linux doesn’t make you periodically update your entire distro…
In fact, the cycles are considerably shorter than on Windows, I don’t think any Linux distro, not even Debian Stale, gives you anywhere near the 14 years you’ve managed to wring out of Windows 7…
If in 2025 i'm forced to upgrade to win 11/12 as these win 7 are being forced i think i'm done with PCs, i am going to buy a PS5 instead and move over there, a sub is better than dealing with Win 11/12.
And its laughable to say Win 10 is a secured OS
do you know how intrusive the games you download are...
if your read some of these eula you are sending your data everywhere
all around the world depending on where and who the game is made by
and thats if you can work out who the game is really made by... LOL
microsoft seems like nice and cosy data collection in comparison
Let me ask you a question to counter that…
Is your data secure from Steam? Is your data secure from Meta/X? Is your data secure from Amazon?
Reason I bring this up is the devices, sites and clicks you do is always being tracked in some capacity. Why would protecting your data from Microsoft be any different than Steam in this regard?
I’m genuinely curious…
If Win 7 continued to be supplied with updates, Steam would also be supported in the future. Either way, it's ridiculous that people think they have to complain to Valve instead of MS.
