Buy the same game on Steam and some other platform, then compare the download/install time.

"Best" is a matter of comparison. Steam is not good just by itself, some parts of it suck donkey balls. Well, at least it doesn't kill its forums once a year, only to move to frakking discord like certain others coughUbisoftcough

Technically that's forbidden by their terms of service. That hey have no way of enforcing it is another matter.

It's the least bad one. It used to be pretty good, but it's becoming too bloated and bugged and no longer fully homemade (it now relies on Google software). Valve's standards used to be pretty high but the lack of competition has been detrimental to us.

Does any other platform even offer to reimburse you no question ask if something fail and the game don't work?

Because AFAIK only Steam does that. And it truly elevate the platform above the rest.
