Custom URL field

In my profile I have an option for custom url. What do I put there? Is this for a link to your personal web site?

It is for setting a custom URL for your steam profile.
Mine is https://steamcommunity.com/id/Callahan420/

That is IMO the best, craziest, and just plain awesome profile. Way to go! I love anime and chibi and love your style.

So really the URL field is to put a custom name that will replace the default number. I am going to your page as my inspiration.

You didn't ask me, but.. maybe someone who was too late and who really wanted that vanity URL is going to harass you? At least that can be extrapolated from the threads here and on other forums where they demand inactive users to be relieved of the right to certain names.

Yes, I have read some of these threads as well. I'm not too worried about that though

On the other hand, I also read that you can't remove custom URLs at the moment. Is that still true?

Do you mean a custom URL you set yourself, or through Support on someone else's account?

Generally, no. It's easier to find you. If you have a desirable one (like I apparently do), people will sometimes beg you to give it to them. You can just ignore/block those people.
