BYE BYE Cheap prices @Argentina & @Turkey
Pricing and Steam Wallets in Turkey & Argentina will convert to USD starting November 20th.

:dexo_happy: The reason for this step: :dexo_happy:
____________________

Exchange rate volatility in Argentina and Turkey in recent years has made it hard for game developers to choose appropriate prices for their games and keep them current. We have heard this loud and clear in our developer meet ups and round table chats. In addition, we have had a hard time keeping Steam payment methods up and running in these countries/territories due to the constant foreign exchange fluctuations, fees, taxes, and logistical issues. Pricing games in USD for Steam customers in Argentina and Turkey will help us provide greater stability and consistency for players and partners, while also enabling us to continue to offer a variety of payment methods to Steam users in those countries/territories.

Turkey & Argentina will be forced to the USD $ and will pay much higher prices (with new regional pricing) than ever before.

:em_skull: We are witnessing the end of an era for Turkish Lira and Argentine Peso. :em_skull:

R.I.P Turkish Lira 2014 ~ 2023 :AJPlay:
R.I.P Argentina Peso 2015 ~ 2023 :AJPlay:

:em_boom: Congratulations @Argentina and @Turkey ! :em_boom:

Welcome to the Western World :ourplanet: and to our market system you are now no longer considered a 3rd world country. :steamsalty: :steamsalty: :steamsalty:

Instead of finding a solution to fix regional price abuse they just decided to lose their whole market from Argentina and Turkey.

Personaly idc i have allready so much game i doubt i will need a new game for atleast 3-4 years now. And by then Steam will regret this desicion and turn back the way ubisoft turned back to them.
I wonder what will be the unknown X in the following equation:

1 USD = X MENA-USD

The reason the pricing was this is become Steam is an actual fair bussines, and that was on par with our economy. What these "people" were doing is crying that it wasn't fair that the disabled guy got a wheelchair, and now they are making them take the wheelchair away.
While I am sad to see TRY support getting removed... I understand why Steam did it. Constantly having to manually update prices is not a good business model.

This way, they can still provide regional pricing without worrying about updating prices constantly. Unfortunately, this means that it will get more expensive by auto with every passing second : ( on the bright side... this also means it will get more cheap by auto if the economy gets better in the future. Though... I don't have hope for it to get better.

YES, FINALLY SOMEONE GETS WHAT I AM SAYING WITHOUT BLOATING ABOUT HOW GREAT THEIR COUNTRY IS

Correction: 5/7 of the price. If you are gonna criticize regional pricing... at least do it correctly.

Yeah, the thing this guys don't understand is that when these games released the price was not as cheap as it seems now, 1 dollar went from ARS$40 to ARS$735 in this 4 years, and a lot of devs simply didn't update them. That's why changing to USD is fine by me, as long as we still have regional pricing, but we won't, Steam's price suggestion won't matter. From now on, the only time they'll see money coming from argentina is on seasonal sales, and even then it'll be much less.

It's not a constant X but per pricing category: https://steamdb.info/blog/steam-turkey-argentina-usd/

And the thing is, that platforms/game developers/publishers might actually be perfectly fine with that.

Not all markets are equal, they all have different priorities for companies. And in general countries with failing economies become less of a priority.
