"How dare you racist bigot! Don't you know that we SHOULD celebrate people of color!"
This is an American mental disease being pressed upon the rest of the world. Instead of righting the race ship, they have flipped it on its other side. It is now cool to promote the right kind of minorities while diminishing others. Sure the rest of the world also has race issues but you don't see "Brazilian Game Devs of Japanese Ancestry" or any other racial issues from other nations.
I'd like to know how eligibilty is determined. Do they just hold you up to a color chart or do you have to submit to a dna test. What percentage white do you have to be before you are rejected? Is this for solo devs only? What percentage of your team is allowed to be white? eg. If EA, Ubisoft or Bethesda have just one person of color working for them in their 1000's member teams, do they qualify?
I would expect most large companies would qualify in today's diverse world, as I would expect them to be hiring people based on their MERIT rather than skin color.
Simply the existence of such organisations creates an us & them situation which encourages and extends discrimination by skin color.
In 2023, who the hell is out there saying someone can't create a game because of their skin color, have you all gone stupid?
Well there are of course subsets of white people, just like there are subsets of black people, subsets of hispanics, or subsets of any race.
But it's pretty ironic of you to say my view of race is influenced by white supremacy, when I'm protesting against a special promotion given to "people of color", and the very phrase "people of color" is rooted in the same white supremacist paradigm you describe.
What does "people of color" even mean? Who counts? Black people? What about Hispanics? Certainly Indians and Asians are called people of color too. Is there anyone who's NOT a person of color?
Turns out there's only 1 race that never counts as "people of color" and it's white people.
So the very phrase "people of color" is a racist term term that's defined by who is excluded, rather than who is included. And it's rooted in the same white supremacist world view you described, where there are only 2 categories.... white people and everyone else.
Because the irony here is: https://www.gamedevsofcolorexpo.com/about-us
The Game Devs of Color Expos is not race based....its literally ABOUT THE DIFFERENT HUES OF HUMANITY COMING TOGETHER AND RELEASING GAMES, No one was ever excluded, hell GOG's winner this year was a man with a black and purple wig.
OP brought race into a situation that was never about race to start with, thats why we've been calling him a racist.

THAT IS LITERALLY THE COMPANY NAME AND YOU'VE BEEN IN A IGNORANT WAR OVER A COMPANY BRAND AND AWARD.
On the web page you linked to it lists 17 different people composing the "organizing team". Out of those 17 not a single person is white.
How exactly does this debunk my argument that they intentionally exclude white people?
If I ran a company where I had 17 people on the board and out of the 17 there was not a single "person of color", My DEI score would be so low I would not qualify for a loan from a bank or be able to raise capital from investment firms. I could probably also expect protests and cancel culture to come for my company as well.
I'm tired of this stupid double standard. And I'm tired of idiots who defend it.
"Creators of color make great games but are often pushed to the margins. We fight to create a better games industry that is intersectional and equitable."
Why are these people with purple wigs being marginalised? This is horrible.
Edit: Thanks for the free points dude, try harder because Jesters don't effect me, they just allow me to buy more for my Steam inventory
"But for the guy who has been in the spotlight for their whole life, the tiniest of shades feels like the deepest and coldest of darkness."
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate that he used the word "mongoloid" as an insult, which is in fact a racial slur against Mongolians based on the stereotype that they are dumb savages... And he used it the correct context to reinforce that racist stereotype. Not to mention it's also been used as a slur against people with down syndrome.
And he's saying I'm actually the racist..... Which pretty much epitomizes this whole thread. A bunch of racist leftists who lack the self awareness to even realize the ♥♥♥♥ they are saying.
Show me Steam running a "Celebrating white developers" promotion and I will accept your premise that white people have been given any kind of similar "spotlight".
You just have to wait with these people to find out who the real racists are...or at the very least how the ideology is just convenient to use against people.
Now lets wait for the justification and how "dats no raccisss 'cause I did it and I mean well..and youre a nazi"
The dude had to use Urban Dictionary to throw up its fake meaning here.
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mongolo < What OP posted
mongoloid
[ˈmäNGɡəˌloid]
NOUN
DATED
old-fashioned term for a person with Down syndrome.
Its actual meaning
