Steam has never made a relevant game again without being associated with a product of its own.

If Microsoft bought valve, steam would be a wonderful place. It would add a game pass with multiple games, continue the release of old games, remove cancer from the loot-boxes of the steam market (purely digital garbage), fix the hackers in games.

Please steam is dying.

When Microsoft enters a market they do whatever they can to monopolize it. When they decided to enter the video game industry with the XBOX it wasn't to make an additional revenue stream. It was to utterly monopolize it.

They tried with the XBox and failed miserably. They tried again and again until this day where there sales numbers are utter crap compared to Sony Playstation.

Now they go to selling subscriptions and buy out entire companies like Bethesda and Activision. They still no nothing about the industry or what people like, so they buy the wrong company and still Sony has a big lead.

They said themselves that if their latest scheme (XBox game pass) doesn't work by 2027 they are out of the market altogether.

They are not a good company. They win by buying out competition or bending the law until nobody can compete. That doesn't seem to be working anymore.
