Steam "in-game voice" not working (cs2)

hey so i have a very irritating issue that's been going on for about a week or so now. My microphone works perfectly fine in every game/program on my pc. For some strange reason in Counter-Strike 2 my mic does not work properly at all. i say "my mic" its definitely a problem with counter-strike 2 but i can't fix it. my mic worked perfectly fine in CS:GO, and just to make sure its not a problem with all source games i tested in in Gmod and CS:Source and it works fine.

The issue is when i talk in game my icon appears in the bottom left but nobody can hear me. first though is probably "oh well he's not set his microphone to the correct device" i have all the correct settings ive double, triple, quadruple checked.

Now here's whats weird, if i scream extremely loud down the mic is triggers and people can hear me just fine. so for some strange reason Valve has an in game noise gate on the voice chat which can't be adjusted to my knowledge. i did fix the issue for 2 days by doing a command "voice_threshold 500" from 4000. my friend could hear me in game but then an update came out and made that fix no longer works for me. Even putting the threshold to 0 isnt working now.

ive tried contacting steam support because it's 1000% apparent this is an issue with the game clearly this noise gate they have is fine for the majority of mic that are by passing the noise gate but for the other mics that arent quite hitting it its basically rendering voice chat broken.

I've also checked my windows mic settings to make sure the mic is at max volume which it is, ive checked my microphone software too. i physically can't make my mic any more sensitive to get past this in game noise gate they have.

yeah as i stated here that fix no longer works since the most recent patch. no point in post in the CS2 community page since everyone says the same thing. "make sure you select the correct microphone" like i havent already done that lol. CS players arent exactly the most technologically switched on gamer haha, so hoping someone who has a better understanding of how steam voice chat works might now something. valve wont acknowledge this as a problem.

If it is specific to CS2 and any update that may have broken it, then it should be asked about in the game hub.

I have this exact issue. Checked all settings a million times and the chat icon comes up at the bottom yet still no audio when I speak. Did you find a solution?
