EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) - False Positives?
Hello everyone! Since EAC does not offer to contact them anymore i guess this is probably the place to talk now.

I'm making this thread for my girlfriend, she recently got a brand new install of Windows 11 and everything was working well until she played Rust, 30 minutes into playing she randomly got banned by EAC? We thought it was just a weird false positive, sent an appeal and moved on.. almost 2 weeks later she gets in VRChat and after 30 minutes gets banned from the game (which uses EAC)

EAC Does not have a list of known conflict programs, I haven't gotten the chance to fully check her PC but the only out of the ordinary program she uses is a TTS program since she is born deaf, which isn't a conflict, she does not have any cheats or RGB controllers nor outdated Anti-Virus, any ideas?

I told her to avoid any EAC protected game for now but since they don't offer support, I don't see a solution to this.. thanks!

You'll want to contact the vendor of the game tou got banned from.

With multiple Vac bans and game bans the idea EAC is giving you a “false” ban is laughable upon its face and your “friend” should be avoiding lying cheaters like you

We can't offer any solution better than Easy Anti-Cheat can. False Positives, while rare, certainly can happen. Only the Easy Anti-Cheat team has the information behind why a ban occurred.

You can appeal here:

Are you looking at your own profile? Your last ban was 2592 days ago. None of those bans are a false positive after that long.

Telling him to contact someone or appeal the ban is pointless. Also, if you look at the info link right next to the ban text on your profile for the game ban, you'll see that the account was banned by the developer. EAC doesn't ban accounts.

False positives would unlikely hit across multiple games. EAC will go after anything hooked into the game, cheating software, cheating hardware etc.

You can only try the ban appeal page at the most or otherwise make a ticket on EACs site. EAC may also ban those that are ban evading.

OP isn't talking about themselves....

Edit: Never mind.. Could be? Would there not be two game bans on the profile if that was the case? HWID ban perhaps?

Even still. OP has a game ban, this will be the same ban as his girlfriend has on her account as RUST only uses game bans. It does not use VAC.

His girlfriend was banned by the RUST developers, Valve applies the ban to the account, but it is the developers that tell Valve to apply it. That's why in parentheses it says, Game Ban (banned by developer)

Rust does not use hardware bans. The only game that I know of that uses hardware bans, is Valorant.

It seems as if the developer can decide what happens after an EAC detection occurs based on this[www.easy.ac] FAQ. I can see how someone would be confused and believe that EAC issued the ban given that this is the Account Alert[i.ytimg.com] that someone would see.

I just find it weird that these bans get given almost instantly after reinstalling Windows fresh, she's played VRChat with thousands of hours and it happens randomly like this, same for Rust.

I honestly think there's something wrong in her PC, just can't figure out what.

So if you're only inquiring about your girlfriend's ban, then that means that it is not your account, not your ban, not your problem.

Have your girlfriend read this:

This is a user forum. As such, no one here can remove any type of ban.

The only people here are other Steam users.

You should know from the experiences with your own account, that those types of excuses don't cause bans. Something being wrong with the PC doesn't cause a game ban. Game bans are only given for cheating, griefing or smurfing.

You should also know EAC bans show as game bans on the profile and as per the information in the link above, that any game ban that is visible on the profile, is permanent.

"The duration of the game ban is determined by the developer. Only permanent game bans are displayed on the user’s profile. Temporary game bans, or suspensions, are not displayed."

You should put some efforts in and actually read the thread instead of chatting non sense bs, no one is asking about unbans, just asking if there's known conflicts with software, for example 2 years ago i myself was banned from MW2019 because of Logitech's software, the ban was lifted a week later but affected many users, conflicts exists and usually can cause crash or incompatibility but may also cause false detections, EAC actually had a page that listed those but it was deleted in April of 2023, do some research before assuming things.
