They dont ban people for opinion or hate speach
To get banned you activly need to go out of your way to do something particulary bad

I agree here unfortunately. And the bannings do always swing politically left, regardless of what anybody claims...

Indeed...no idea where this comment comes from. If you make a discriminatory comment, you'll get banned for it, usually...as long as it's blatant enough for the moderators to tell. But sometimes I question if they have eyes and a brain, or understand English.

All speech should be unrestricted, anybody who says otherwise is an authoritarian. Don't really care if your feelings get hurt. Steem fails that test hard. If a competitor showed up today and openly refused to ban/censor I'd be there in a flat second.

A private profile doesn't mean you can ignore the site rules for content. its steam's site and you have to obey the rules whether your profile is public or private
