Questions about Steam Achievements
I have several games on my Steam account that I have achievements for that are counting towards my achievements completion rate. I also have a couple of games that I have played but haven't gotten the achievements for yet. Are these games counting towards my completion rate if I haven't gotten any of the achievements yet? Is there a place that I can look to see which games are being included in my game completion rate?
Also, I have a few games that I got a couple of achievements on that I didn't end up liking. Is there a way for me to reset these games so that they don't get included in the completion rate? This would ideally mean to reset them back to having 0 achievements, but I would also want to make sure that they aren't being included in the completion rate with a 0% completion after doing so.

Apparently there's some 3rd party program that can adjust your achievements. Steam legal, as far as I know.

One can indeed use SAM to relock achievements, but the before unlocked achievements will still count to the average completion rating as far as I'm aware.

I do know about SAM already, however it doesn't accomplish quite what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to be able to get these games with 0% achievements (after removing the achievements) to not be counted towards my completion rate.

Not possible. Once you start collecting achievements, they are counted in the total whether you reset them or not. I believe they even count if you remove the game from your library.

If achievement completion is such a concern to you, then use SAM to unlock all the achievements in the game's you didn't like. Otherwise you are just going to have to accept not having 100% or play through the games anyway to complete the achievements normally.

There's also the issue that a game may internally know what achievements you have unlocked and will check with Steam and if they are missing will re-push them back onto your account. This is usually done to make sure that if it didn't award it the first time, it will get it later on.

Man, they really do make this complicated :/ I tried looking around and it looks like people have been asking this sort of thing for years. I don't really understand why steam hasn't made it a thing yet. I understand there maybe being an issue with people accidentally deleting their data, but they could at least safeguard that sort of thing with several levels of confirmation before actually removing anything.

As long as you don't the play the games you own that have achievements, they'll stay at 0% and not count in your completion rate.

If you try playing such a game but stops before getting a single achievement, pretty sure it will still not count in your completion rate.

As soon as you get the first achievement in a game, it will affect your completion rate. There's no way to undo that.

Because the developer has to do that. A game can remove its own achievements and clear relevant data to make sure they are properly awarded in the future.

If Steam just cleared the achievements from their end you could end up with either:
1. The game re-awarding the achievements the next time it's run or,
2. The game never re-awarding the achievements because it believes it has already successfully awarded them.
