No. Games cannot be transferred. If you're no longer using the Steam account, either give it to your son* or family share it with him.

* Technically, not allowed by the SSA, but if you're never using it again and live in the same house, who's to know? Just remove any payment information if you don't want your son spending your money =)

You can share your account with your friend. But one has to be offline while other playing.

Not a good idea.

You may as well delete the account entirely.

Sharing your account with someone else causes that account to be permanently restricted.

He's talking about using Family Share. Functionality Valve themselves built into Steam. He's not telling OP to give his password, etc., to a friend. And OP is talking about his son anyway.

And yes, when you family share, if you also want to use your library, going offline is the workaround. Otherwise, only one game can be played, locking the library. Which is a draconian step that Sony, Nintendo, and even Microsoft don't force onto console gamers.

That's clearly not defined in his post at all.

Fair enough, but it's understood by anyone who has used Family Sharing and discovered how it locks even the owner out of all their other games.

technically yes, you can family share your library and your son will have access to all your games, the games will actually show in your sons library.

Incorrect. Not all games can be family shared.

Can all Steam games be shared with friends and family?
No, due to technical limitations, some Steam games may be unavailable for sharing. For example, titles that require an additional third-party key, account, or subscription in order to play cannot be shared between accounts.

Can region-restricted content be shared across regions?
No, any region restrictions will remain in place when lending or borrowing content.

Read the quote that you ignored. Not every game can be family shared. I even linked it. I didn't make it up.

He's not lying. Publishers and developers can choose whether their games can be shared or not. Usually games that require an external launcher cannot be shared.

Technically, regionally restricted games also cannot be shared (but that is one area where VPNs still work with Steam to bypass the limitation).

If OP is never going to use Steam again, his best option is to simply to give his son the Steam account. Valve aren't going to care, especially if they live in the same house.
